Project Profile
Project details
Project: TAFE NSW ARP upgrades
Location: NSW
Builder: Precise Air and Precise Fire
Client: TAFE NSW
Services: Mechanical services, Fire services
Precise Air and Precise Fire were engaged to provide HVAC and Fire upgrades to 118 sites throughout NSW. Staged over a tight six month programme, the upgrades spanned the entire state, from Albury in the south to Ballina in the north, and out to Broken Hill.
Our teams are now working on the roll out of the next stage of upgrades throughout the state.
The success of this project relied on the seamless collaboration of our construction, TAFE NSW’s and JLL’s contract management, project management, and facility management teams.
Overcoming challenges were crucial factors in achieving the project’s objectives. These included:
• scheduling and coordinating individual HVAC and Fire projects across 100 sites to accommodate premises availability during non-business hours and holidays
• addressing supply chain issues including delays in equipment delivery, particularly fire panels.
Safety and efficiency were critical priorities for the installations. On site toolbox talks with subcontractors were conducted. In some cases units were airlifted onto buildings using a helicopter.
The scope of works includes:
more than 110 fire alarm systems and over 13,000 detectors
over 750 HVAC units, partnering with our parent company, Fujitsu General Australia
subcontractor and project management across metropolitan, regional.
From Albury to Ballina and out to Broken Hill, Precise's Air and Fire teams managed the design and installation of HVAC and Fire systems to 118 campuses throughout the state.
