By installing UVC lighting systems, Airgene reduced mould levels from 1882 to 115, with no indication of significant levels of mould growth in tested areas.
Airgene’s UVC lighting team was engaged to supply, install, and commission UV lighting on two AHUs at a highly sensitive public building.
To investigate and assess the levels mould present for the purposes of remediation, we engaged the services of IECL (a leading mould testing laboratory and indoor air quality consulting firm).
Pre-install assessments of 27 fungal structures recorded mould levels of 1882 and identified fungal hyphae (which indicates recent active mould growth) and elevated levels of Cladosporium which is known to be allergenic and produce mycotoxins.
According to the ANSI/IICRCS520 standard, at these levels the premises would be classed as Condition 3 and the detected mould may pose a hazard to the health and wellbeing of occupants.
All works were performed to meet all applicable Australian Standards:
After the installation of the UVC lighting, mould levels drop from 1882 to 115, with no indication of significant levels of mould growth in tested areas.
We’re excited to announce that our PAAP program has won the TAFE NSW Gili Industry Partnership Award! The Precise Air Aboriginal Pathways (PAAP) program is in it’s 3rd year and is a fantastic collaboration between Precise Air, TAFE NSW and NSW Police, providing educational and employment opportunities in the HVAC industry. It’s help us raise the overall participation rate of First Nations employees in Precise to almost 4%, and represents 19% of our apprentice cohort. Certainly something for us to celebrate in Reconciliation Week! Gili (pronounced ‘kill-ee’) is an Eora word meaning ‘to shine’. The Gili Awards celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and TAFE NSW employees, as well as innovative programs that aim to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Special thanks to the Precise Air team, TAFE NSW’s Sharon Taylor, Emma McDonald and Gary Jarret, and NSW Police Superintendent Scott Tanner APM.
