What you need to know about the AS1815 NSW Legislation Changes in 2026

Early next year the Australian Standard 1851: Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment standard will be legislated in NSW. This change brings NSW in line with Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.

This update will have significant impacts on HVAC systems that are integrated with fire safety measures. We have developed an Advice that outlines implications for operating and servicing buildings, including the new requirements for fans operating in fire mode. Please see the Advice provided as an attachment.

At Precise Air, we are committed to supporting your compliance journey. Please contact us to coordinate fire mode testing, optimise scheduling, and minimise disruptions to your operations.

Case Study: Sustainability with Precise Air, Abacus and Fujitsu

A commitment to partnering with our customers is in our DNA. Collaborating with Abacus Group and Fujitsu General Australia has been a particularly rewarding experience. Together with the Abacus Group sustainability team, we’re applying our mechanical engineering expertise to create clear and achievable strategies to help reach their sustainability commitments. This video case study highlights the recent upgrades at The Oasis Broadbeach and 14 Martin Place in Sydney, using Fujitsu AIRSTAGE chillers. Success of these projects is down to the planning and project management of our Gold Coast and Sydney teams. Our full case study goes even further. By leveraging data analytics and IoT technologies, we’re able to continuously monitor, report on and improve building performance and the indoor air environment, and deliver data driven strategies. It is such a pleasure to work with like-minded organisations who share a passion for seeking out innovative solutions. Together, we’re pushing the boundaries of technology, driving growth, and creating a brighter future. To find out more about, please contact Sam La Rocca or Andrew Waugh.
